Agile Wallabies are one of the most common members of the kangaroo family found in the Wet Tropics of Australia. They are also found in the southern and eastern lowlands of Papua New Guinea. Feeding mainly on native grasses they will often dig into the soil to obtain and eat the roots of these grasses. Unfortunately the abundance of the Agile Wallaby and its perceived effects on crops and pastures has led to this beautiful and sensitive animal being declared a pest species in farming areas.
