
A semi-aquatic, arboreal lizard, often seen
lying on branches overhanging water. When disturbed it will drop from great
heights to escape. Feeds on a variety of insects and aquatic organisms,
including frogs as well as other small terrestrial vertebrates. Grows to about 1
metre in length. The female incubates her eggs in warm sand.
