Forest
Kingfisher
Halcyon macleayii

Perhaps one of the
better know Kingfishers in the Wet Tropics the Forest Kingfisher is
often seen perching on power lines. Often seen a long distance from
water. They appear to have a sense of humour as they often dive-bomb
doves on the lawn and peel of at the last minute with a cackling
call.
