Northern
Dwarf Tree Frog
Litoria bicolor

Identification:
Length 30 mm. Slender. Green or fawn, sometimes with broad band running down
back; belly white; back of thighs and groin dull orange or yellow. Brown
or bronze head stripe extends from, nostril to about mid-body. Fingers with little
webbing, toes three-quarters webbed.
Habitat and
Range:
Various habitats. Breeds in permanent, semipermanent and
temporary pools with grasses, Lilly pads or sedges. Northern
Australia to Bowen, Qld; Also New Guinea.
Mating Call:
High pitched 'wreeeeek' lasting less than a second and two pips
merging with first part of call.
Eggs:
Brown; laid in clear jelly mat on water surface.
