Orange-thighed Treefrog
Litoria xanthomera

During the breeding season (normally our wet season January-March) Orange-thighed Treefrogs form huge noisy aggregations around the Melon Holes in the rainforest at Thylogale to mate. This breeding extravaganza usually occurs on the night of the first flooding rain of the wet season and is a sight to gladden the heart of a frog lover. Their eggs are brown and laid in a clear jelly mat on the surface where they sink to the bottom of the pool or attach to vegetation.
