Young pademelon grooming

On the Red-legged Pademelon the two inside toes have fused together to make a single digit with a double claw. This can be extended at right angles and is used for grooming.  Male pademelons become sexually mature at around 16 months of age. Rainforest is the preferred habitat of the Red-legged Pademelon where it feeds on a variety of fruits, leaves and fungi. Of an evening they venture out of the forest and feed on grasses along the forest edge. Their predators are Dingos, Tiger Quolls and large Amethystine Pythons.
