Pheasant
Coucal (breeding male)
Centropus
phasianinus

Although a member of the
Cuckoo family the Pheasant Coucal build their own nest and raise their own
young. During the breeding season males call from the tops of trees with a long
drawn out hooting call. Often seen on road verges, males appear to us roadways
as breeding territory boundary markers.
