Rainbow Bee-eater
Merops ornatus

The Rainbow Bee-eater is a truly gorgeous bird with very graceful flight. Often seen sitting in the tops of dead trees in small colonies they dash out with undulating flight to take insects. Simular to the Azure Kingfisher they nest in chambers at the end of burrows 1.5 meters long in sandy banks along water courses etc.
