Swamp Wallaby
Wallabia bicolor

Swamp wallaby drinking at a waterhole

A combination of genetic, reproductive, dental and behavioural characteristics set this wallaby so far apart from all other wallabies that it is classified as the sole living member of the genus Wallabia.

The Swamp Wallaby lives in thick undergrowth in forest, woodland and heath. They feed mainly on ferns, shrubs and bushes.
